{"id":403,"date":"2011-12-22T09:45:09","date_gmt":"2011-12-22T09:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oil-analysis.testoil.com\/?p=403"},"modified":"2023-05-02T19:11:11","modified_gmt":"2023-05-02T19:11:11","slug":"ftir-enhancement-of-turbine-oils","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/testoil.com\/did-you-know\/ftir-enhancement-of-turbine-oils\/","title":{"rendered":"FTIR Enhancement of Turbine Oils"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"h2\">FTIR Enhancement of Turbine Oils<\/h2>\n<p>Earlier this year, TestOil modified\u00a0our FTIR analysis\u00a0for <a href=\"https:\/\/testoil.com\/turbine-oil-analysis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">turbine oil<\/a> and began reporting new, enhanced parameters.\u00a0 We improved\u00a0the data interpretation to generate\u00a0these new\u00a0parameters which provide our customers a more detailed oil analysis of the health of their turbine oil.<\/p>\n<p><em>New parameters include:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Thermal Event Acid - <\/strong>A degradation mechanism of the fluid caused by micro dieseling or spark.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Acid - <\/strong>Final oxidation mode of the lubricant.
